Josiane was born in 1975 in Western North Carolina near her father’s family but grew up outside of Syracuse, New York near her mother’s family. She was very driven to drew, paint and excel in learning from a young age. It wasn’t until receiving training and encouragement from her high school art instructor, Nick Todisco, that she took her artwork seriously for life. Josiane continued her education in fine art with inspirational teachers from Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY and completed her Bachelor of Fine Art at Purchase College, NY in December 1997. She also studied at the Academie Voor Beeldende Vorming in Amsterdam for a semester before moving to Arizona in 2000.
Josiane states that, “Every piece I do is an emotional journey through color. I am continuously inspired by the extraordinary world around me as well as the exciting possibilities of infinite color relationships. Every color is beautiful and has a place. There is not one color I can think of that I am not fond of. There is always a reason to paint. I am in love with paint.”
