A native of Custer, Washington, Jeanette Swafford grew up in the Pacific Northwest and attended Western Washington College and the University of Illinois. She has lived and worked in Minneapolis since 1962.

A talented and versatile artist, Jeanette works in several media. Many of her paintings are inspired by her experiences as a private pilot in New Mexico where the Southwestern landforms and hues impressed her greatly. Jeanette’s oil landscapes exalt the lyrical and colorful quality of nature, showing the rhythms and flow of land, water and sky. Through inviting and enticing colorations she shares with the viewer the grandeur of the scene while retaining a gently and accessible quality.

Her work is featured in the following corporate collections: 3M, General Mills, Control Data, Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank, the James Land Development Company, Radisson Hotels, Jorgenson Steel and many other corporate as well as private collections.
