Originally from South Bend, Indiana, James Sanders moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1996.
Currently completing his Fine Arts degree at Arizona State University, he plans to continue his education through an MFA Program. Through fine art, murals and decorative finishes, James enjoys all aspects of the creative process.

“As a young artist I am learning the challenges of painting”, he states. “We all have tasks to complete before the end of the day and human beings want to know that they have been productive.” For James, these tasks are not in the physical act of painting, but also in the gathering of information.

James believes that “sometimes we can’t appreciate a piece of art unless we know the process and information the artist used to begin and finish the piece. I recognize that process of discerning information and become aware of it in my work. Furthermore, I hope to give back my understanding of information to the viewer through an intellectual process of color, form and materials.”
